PART TIME... EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS ... FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE ... EARN CASH MONEY DAILY
Major League Softball, Inc. provides adult slow pitch softball programs throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside & San Bernardino Counties.
We are always looking for reliable people to officiate adult softball games scheduled nights and weekends and we pay $30.00 CASH ON THE FIELD per game. Games are typically 55-70 min each, and a typical weeknight shift is 2-4 games ... weekends can be anywhere from 3-8 games.
MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1) Strong people skills, PATIENCE & a good attitude.
2) Previous umpiring experience preferred, however training will be provided. A solid understanding of the game and rules is required.
3) Your own reliable transportation, carpooling needs will not be considered when scheduling shifts.
4) DAILY E-mail access + a cell phone with texting capability for scheduling purposes (not optional).
5) You must be 20 or over with no criminal record & in good physical health (no ongoing health issues OR injuries).
DUTIES OF UMPIRES:
One Man Mechanics for Adult Slow Pitch Softball games. All umpires are required to demonstrate competence on the field and pass a S.C.M.A.F. Certification test prior to receiving assignments. Umpires must arrive at their assigned park no fewer than 15 minutes prior to the first game, walk the field to ensure players safety, and set up the field. A typical shift consists of three (3) seventy (70) minute games scheduled back to back, but can be 2-8 games on weekends. Umpires are required to provide their own uniform and equipment.

There is a small annual fee to certify & insure through SCMAF (MLS will walk you through this step). The cost includes an MLS Umpire Hat which will be needed for your on-field uniform. (You will make this $$ back after working just 3 games.)
